Elizabeth Shelhart returns to MAGC this summer for a six-week session of all levels yoga class on the lawns of the Marin Art & Garden Center. Nothing is more relaxing at the end of the warm summer day than spreading a mat on the Gazebo Lawn and practicing yoga with the natural world as inspiration. Elizabeth says, “surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of the beautiful gardens filled with birds and flowers, we will tend, prune, water, and harvest from the inner garden of our body and breath.”
This class is open to beginners and experienced yogis and will include strengthening as well as gentle and relaxing yoga sequences. New and expecting mothers (and babies) are welcome.
There will be shade and afternoon sun on the lawn so please bring a sunhat along with a yoga mat, water, and an outdoor cushion.
Elizabeth Shelhart began practicing yoga as a teenager and studied intensely in India for six months when she was 20. She has received many certifications over the years including one in Dharma Yoga and Meditation from Spirit Rock. Teaching for 15 years, Elizabeth brings a true reverence and devotion to her classes and personal practice. Her classes are infused with mindfulness and attention to safety and alignment.
