Public Show May 18th – 23rd 2019
Gallery hours 11 am-3 pm
Twenty-four artists have been given exclusive access from fall to spring to paint the protected farmlands of West Marin highlighting MALT’s conservation work of protecting our watersheds, grasslands, habitats and agricultural heritage for the future. Since this art shows inception it has raised more than $1 million dollars to protect and steward working farms and ranches in Marin County.
An opening night cocktail party will offer patrons first viewing and an early buying opportunity from the never before seen selection of artworks. An impressive array of delicious foods from many MALT protected producers will be featured by Christian Caiazzo, Chef-Proprietor of Osteria Stellina. Tickets will be on sale by early March.
During the Public Show May 18-23rd, MALT will be holding an artist and conservation talk, workshops given by the painters and Sondra Berstein owner of Girl & the Fig’s FigRig food truck featuring local producers on Saturday May 18.
Curation of the gallery and painted works will be displayed in four main categories:
- Watershed – creeks, lagoon, bay
- Grassland – meadows, grazing animals
- Habitat – wildlife corridors, trees
- Heritage – way of life, production, structures
