Any vintage treasure-hunter in the know will have heard of Laurel House Antiques and Consignment, the shop on the grounds here at MAGC that offers a dazzling array of heritage jewelry, crystal, silver, china, tableware and linens, furniture, and artwork.

The shop is staffed by knowledgeable volunteers who are members of the Laurel House Group. Its parent organization, the Northgate Group, is one of the oldest based at MAGC and was established by MAGC founder Caroline Livermore and her friends in 1947. The shop itself has had various locations around the grounds, even including the Bottle House, before settling in the building between the Garden Room and the Livermore Pavilion. In these winter  months, you’ll be glad to step in out of the cold, since the shop has a functional fireplace to keep it cozy. And if you’re a fan of items from Japan, China, or other cultures in the region, be sure to visit the Asian Room, across from the main shop.

The Laurel House Group donates in excess of 11,000 hours each year to manage and operate Laurel House Antiques. Proceeds from the Shop help to maintain MAGC. Whether you’re looking to consign items from your own collection, or that special piece to add to your home, Laurel House is a wonderful community resource here at the Marin Art & Garden Center.
